I was getting ready to go to bed last night when a firetruck and EMS unit from the Pedernales Fire Department came screaming into the neighborhood and stopped two doors from me. I later found out one of the neighbors had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. I have not been able to find out the neighbors condition. The neighbor had been living here less than two weeks. Today I was at the Bee Caves Library during the morning then went to Austin where I put into practice the old saying "Persistence will always pay off". I needed to pick up some UT basketball tickets that I had purchased over the phone a few days ago so I headed for Belmont Hall inside the Texas football stadium. I had been told by the UT marketing department last week that the Belmont and Erwin center box offices would be open and I would be able to pick up the tickets at either office. As I passed by the Erwin Center on the way to Belmont Hall I could see that the Erwin's box office was not open and began to think the Belmont Hall office would also be closed. When I got to the stadium I walked three fourths of the way around the stadium trying every door I saw but all were locked. I finally found one small door unlocked and once inside the stadium I found only one ticket window open but that was enough, I got the tickets. The next practice of persistence took place at the Honey Baked Ham store. I had to stand in line for an hour but I got the ham I wanted and now everyone will have a Merry Christmas dinner. About the only thing that went off without out a hitch today was my early morning visit with the man that owns the land the RV Parks sets on and the Art exhibit in the Texas State Capital basement that I attended during the lunch hour.
