I had an extremely full morning starting with an early morning walk on the Hike and Bike trail next to Auditorium Shores. On my walk I spotted a new stone carving along the banks of Lady Bird Lake and later in the morning visited two other statues that were dedicated on Veteran's Day. One Veteran's statue was on the UT campus while the other War statue was at the Texas Capital. I was at the Capital for performances by two Choirs, one from Hutto Tx and one from Richmond Tx. In one of the Capital's corridors I ran into the Texas Land Commissioner. We had a short conversation then a large group of school kids surrounded us so we parted ways. The Capital was filled with school children all morning. Today must have been Field Trip Day because there were long lines of kids every where. There was an hour break between choir performances so I toured a Texas history exhibit at the Capital's Visitor Center then walked down Congress Ave to Starbucks for coffee. On the way back to my auto I visited the Texas Ex's lounge and consumed another cup of coffee then stopped at Texas DKR Memorial Stadium before leaving downtown. I had some work to do in Southwest Austin and that took up the rest of the day.
