My New Years Eve started loud and early. Around 5:30 AM the local Fire Department and EMS came screaming into the neighborhood once again. They stopped at the same neighbor's RV they stopped at only a week ago but this time they did not take him to the hospital. During the middle of the morning I spent time at the Bee Caves Library and the lunch hour at the AA club. The club is probably a good place for me on New Years Eve so I stayed there awhile and visited. I had planed to spend the rest of the day at a New Years celebration in downtown Austin but the celebration was not going to start for several hours so I took in a light show at the Blanton Museum of Art on the University of Texas campus. I had not planned to stay in downtown much past sundown so I was going to miss the New Year's fireworks. I guess the light show at the Blanton was my fireworks for the night. A lot of the streets downtown were closed to traffic because of the New Years activities and that caused me to have to park in a different area than usual. My walk took me passed Austin's tallest building as I was on my way to the New Years Eve celebration on the shores of Lady Bird Lake.
