I had planned to stay home today but the big bike race next door at Pace Bend park changed my mind. The Pure Austin Pace Bend Road Race started filling up the neighborhood early this morning. The bike race is one of the biggest held in the Austin area. As of Thursday 513 bike riders had registered for the race. The race distances are 25 miles, 44 miles, 62.5 miles and 80 miles. All the race classes will take place on the Parks interior 6.2 mile road. Sometimes the bike races set up their courses in front of my house but today all the activity takes place inside the park. I think I'll head into Austin and watch the University of Texas women take on Pepperdine University in tennis.
