With for sure rain scheduled for this afternoon the Hike and Bike trail around Lady Bird Lake was a lot less crowded this afternoon and the water station was almost deserted. I had been to an AA meeting in South Austin and had a little time to kill before a noon concert at the Texas State Capital so I got in a short walk on the trail. When the fiddle concert ended I walked over to UT and visited the University's Periodical Room. The Cape Town and Johannesburg South Africa papers had great local stories about the World cup. UT has every thing if one just knows where to look. Exiting the reading room the rain had began to fall but I was able to get to my auto before the downpour really got started. I almost decided to stop half way and give a pint of blood at the colorful Blood Bank bus that was parked in the middle of campus but no donation today for me. I headed on to the auto before the heavy rain started.
