Today is one of those unusual days starting with the four inches of rain that flooded my yard. Today was really all about talk! I made a talk at the AA club this morning speaking about maintaining sobriety. After my talk it was time to listen to someone else talk. At the Blanton Museum of Art, the noon lecture was about the Petrobelli Alterpiece. Jeffery Smith, who holds the chair in European Art at UT spoke about Paolo Veronese's painting Petrobelli Alterpiece. After the lecture at the Blanton I scurried off to the UT Student building. I got to UT's Longhorn Ballroom one hour before the start of today's lecture and there were already over one hundred standing in line for a chance for a seat to hear Dan Rather. I was able to get a seat to hear Mr Rather and for an added treat I got to listen to Pulitzer Prize winner Ben Sargent speak. I am finally caught up for today and have a little break before attending a Doctoral piano recital at Bates Recital Hall. Tonight's recital will be a solo performance by Remigyus Subaliaus.
