After a quick stop at Starbucks I joined friends in South Austin for a meeting then headed for downtown Austin. With Christmas almost over for another year I decided to walk down Congress Ave and look at the decorations in some of the downtown office building windows. Since I was already downtown I took in a model train display next to the Austin City Hall. There were lots of small children watching all the trains that were running on several tracks. The Austin Philharmonic Orchestra was preforming in the Rotunda at the Texas State Capital so before leaving downtown I took in their performance. While at the Capital I went looking for the Christmas tree I could not find during my last visit. I found it in one of the offices in the Capital, basements. Just like most of the Texas government the tree was leaning to the right. When I got home I found a note taped to the front door. The note stated that the neighborhood had had a hobo stew party during lunch and since I was not at home, one of the neighbors would bring me a bowl of stew for supper. Sure enough around 4:45 PM one of the neighbors knocked on the door and delivered a large container of hobo stew. I sure have some good neighbors.
