I was kind of right about the Grand Concours De Chant but it was a much much bigger deal than I expected. The singing contest was the World Championship for French Art Song, French Opera and French Operetta. 287 contestants started this contest in 2009 and today I listened to the ten finalist who were going for the championship. Each person sang two French melodies and two Opera et Operette. All songs were sung in French.
