Today was a day of the unexpected! With the great cholesterol test results (166) last week I figured a little cream would not hurt me so I decided to splurge a little and bought my first half gallon of Blue Bell ice cream of the summer. A new flavor, Caramel Kettle Crunch. The caramel I expected but not the popcorn mixed into the ice cream. That's right, kettle corn mixed into vanilla ice cream with shrills of caramel. Sounds terrible! I don't even like kettle corn but the ice cream was exactingly very good. On the way home with the ice cream I began to see a very large tower of white smoke as I top a hill on Hwy 71. The smoke look like it was coming from the middle of the Hwy. As I got closer I saw a large residential trash truck stopped in the middle of the hwy. The truck's full load of trash had caught fire and the truck dumped the entire load on the hwy so the truck would not go up in flame. Several auto had stopped to help and so did I. There was not much we could do but wait on the firetrucks to arrive. The were no injuries if you exclude my Caramel Kettle Crunch Blue Bell. Let's just say I ended up with more of a milkshake than a bowl of ice cream.
