Saturday morning I had planned to be swimming in Barton Springs while it was still dark outside but a longer than expected stop at the Bee Caves Starbucks caused me to get to the pool around 7:45 AM. As usual the pool had the regular Saturday morning large early groups of swimmers. I swam for about 45 minutes then headed across the street to Austin's Botanical Gardens were I joined a small group of people for a photography class. We learned how to take close up photos. Had about a two hour break before the Classic Film Festival started downtown so I spent the lunch hour at one of UT's Library before heading to the Paramount Theater for the film festival. It was Classic American Novels day at the festival and a benefit for the Austin library system. Donating any book got you into the double feature for free. Saturdays movies were both 1935 releases, David Copperfield and Alice Adams. Upon entering the theater they gave me a pass I can use for any single or double feature anytime through September. That sure was nice and unecpected. Today I will join friends for a noon AA meeting and finish out the lunch hour with a short set of jazz music from the Kris Kimura Quartet. Sunday is Lady Bird Johnson Tribute Day at the Wildflower Center so I'll probably visit the center and then call it a day.
