Friday night I attended the last concert of the Summer at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Omar and the Howlers gave the large crowd a night of great blues. BBQ, Lone Star beer and Blue Bell ice cream free of charge. The concert started at 6 PM so the museum building it's self blocked the scorching sun but on my walk across the UT campus on the way to the concert, the sun was brutal. That walk convinced me to stay out of the sun on Saturday, canceling my planned trip to the bull riding event in Burnet TX. As much as I wanted to watch the bull riding I was not about to set in the arena's steel grandstands at 6 PM with the sun staring me in the face on a day with the temperature of 100 plus.
